Abstract

Wood, specially carbonized, is common in the archaeological sites. Wood remains are accumulated in the archaeological levels as a result of human activity. Nevertheless, their consumption is conditioned by the offer of resources in the surroundings. For this reason they provide data about the vegetal landscape and their transformation throughout the time. In order to obtain a good understanding of data obtained from the charcoal analysis it is necessary to evaluate the formation processes of charcoal assemblages, between them those related to social
and economic factors.
