Open call for contributions to a monograph on Paleoecology
Posted on 2026-02-12We are pleased to announce the launch of a monographic issue of the journal ECOSISTEMAS dedicated to palaeoecology as a tool for understanding global change over long time scales. This special issue seeks to bring together contributions from different disciplines and methodological approaches that address current issues of environmental, climatic and ecological change, integrating data from the deep past without focusing exclusively on a specific taxonomic group. The aim is to offer a broad and rigorous view of how palaeoecology can contribute to contemporary debates on sustainability, ecosystem resilience, extinctions, land use dynamics, and biogeographical responses to global change, among other topics.
This monograph will accept original works, reviews, brief notes, and data papers, provided they meet the journal's scientific standards. We invite you to participate and thank you in advance for sharing this call with colleagues who may be interested in contributing. If you are interested, please send us a provisional title for the manuscript and a summary as soon as possible. Contributions may be in Spanish or English. The deadline for receipt of manuscripts is March 2026.
In addition, the editors of this monograph would like to add a novel and musical touch to the volume and invite you to suggest, when sending your title or at a later date, a piece of music that would be ideal to listen to while reading your work. Optionally, you can explain in a few words why you have chosen that piece, and the musical recommendation will appear at the beginning of each article, along with a brief explanation of why, if you wish.
If you have any questions or would like to confirm your interest, please write to us at:
