Abstract
Isoenzyme polymorphism in Pinus hartwegii Lindl. population from Cofre de Perote, Ver., México.
We used the electrophoretic technique on polyacrylamide gel (PAGE) to evaluate variation in the composition of four isoenzymatic systems (esterases, acid phosphatase, aspartate aminotranspherase and polyphenoloxidase) in the Pinus hartwegii population from Cofre de Perote NP in Veracruz, México to help establishing future conservation programs for this valuable forest resource. Results showed the presence of 29 isoforms. The highest band numbers were observed in esterase, acid phosphatase and polyphenoloxidase systems. Intrapopulation variation was high (86.2%).
