Author Biography

Laura Hernández Mateo, ICIFOR, INIA-CSIC

I am a postdoctoral researcher at ICIFOR-INIA, CSIC in Madrid, where, I combine two lines of research. On the field of applied sciences, I provide scientific and technical support to the Spanish National Forest Inventory (NFI) and on the harmonized estimation of forest biodiversity for forest policy at international level. Regarding basic sciences, my research aims at understanding the biotic and environmental drivers of forest spatio-temporal shifts in a global change context from a biogeographical perspective, encompassing native forests and new forest communities resulting from biological invasions. For this I combined different sources of information and statistical tools, NFI data, field works, Landsat images, tree ring analysis and geostatistics, among others.
