Abstract
The legacy of Fernando González Bernáldez (1933-1992). Thirty years after the untimely death of Spanish ecologist Fernando González Bernáldez (1933-1992), this special issue of Ecosistemas aims to provide a global assessment of his scientific contributions and his environmental commitment. To this end a number of research and review papers explore various scientific areas and topics pioneered by González Bernáldez.
