With González Bernáldez meeting the village of the 21st century
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper offers a review of fundamental ideas of Professor Bernáldez on the functioning of cultural landscapes that have been a source of inspiration and guidance in the author's professional and literary career. The cultural landscapes created and managed locally for centuries by pre-industrial peasant communities are now blurring, dying out or going up in flames as they enter a process of abandonment, depopulation and ecological drift. Reflection on the values of cultural landscapes leads us to propose the rehabilitation of the village as an urban structure in charge of the local management of nature. This review, through some of the essays published by the author, is a tribute and recognition of the legacy of Fernando González Bernáldez
