Fernando González Bernáldez in the public sphere: his influence in promoting collaboration between research and management

Abstract

In addition to his scientific achievements, Fernando González Bernáldez stands out also as a participant in public debates and as a defender of nature conservation. In this note I will summarize some of the most relevant achievements in this regard during the last ten year of his life, paying attention to his collaboration and contacts with public administrations so as to favour a much needed collaboration between the realms of academia and management.
